[from Deborah Powell 4/13/2021 ...]
See what I wrote on the SWHS website shortly after her death. DignityMemorial.com February 5, 2021 Open Door Baptist Church KC, KS. She was active in church youth leadership. Her three daughters: Janet Thrasher, daughter and son. Kristy Soptick, son, Jamie Brann, son. She enjoyed many family gatherings at various outdoor venues with wonderful potlucks galore. She was quite the party planner. Fortunately I, Debby Powell-cousin got to see her a couple of days before she died. She kept it a secret about her Pulmonary Fibrosis from me. She was always busy or didn't want to ever let me take her and husband Jim out to eat-I tried numerous times. She was in Hospice care when I last saw her and was kept comfortable. She had a job where she worked around various chemicals and had quit smoking many years ago. When I saw her last summer of 2020-I showed up at her doorstep unannounced and she had been on O2 for at least a year. I didn't know then that she had the lung disease already for about 2 1/2 years. Donna was a creative soul. She was a dear friend and cousin for what part of her life I was allowed in. She also was married previously to Dennis Ralston, one of our classmates who was included and his parents were included in the family gatherings that I was priviledged to be included as well.
