Ross Taggart

Ross Taggart, of Overland Park, KS, passed on 12/30/23. Ross attended SWHS for several years but graduated from Wentworth Military Academy and then from Drake University. Funeral arrangements were carried out at Park Lawn Funeral Home in KC, MO, with services at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Burial was at Forest Hills Cemetery in KC, MO.

 

Obituary:

Overland Park, Kansas - Ross Campbell Taggart, 73, died of natural causes on Saturday, December 30th, 2023. Ross was born in Kansas City Missouri on December 6, 1950 and attended Wentworth Military Academy, where he was later part of The Marching Elvii, fondly remembered for their performances at local Kansas City parades and sporting events throughout the 1990's. Ross received a BA from Drake University before serving 12 years as an officer in the United States Army and Army Reserves. Ross loved Kansas City, where he worked as a first responder, led ministries at both St. Paul's Episcopal and Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, and even created a non-profit for roadside motorist assistance.

Ross is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katrina Singsen Taggart, daughters Jennie Wandfluh (Colorado Springs) and Caitlin Perkins (Overland Park), son Chris (Overland Park), brother Jonathan Taggart (Georgetown, Maine), along with their spouses and six grandchildren.

Funeral Service and Celebration of Life for Ross will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, 10:00am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (11 E. 40th St. KC, MO 64111) with burial following.
