I remember Jim and considered him a friend - I had no idea he was gone. We had a class or two together and I remember how FUNNY he was ! I can still see him smiling ( OK - it was more like laughing ! ) - especially after he'd just pulled off a "prank" on someone ! I considered him a friend in High School and I am sorry to learn he is no longer with us. Does anyone know more about his passing ? When ? How ? Ralph - do YOU know ? Just curious I guess ...
Update 08/06/14 : I have developed a bit of a friendship with Mike Eaton ( who is either a brother or a step brother - I'm not quite sure ) who also is incidently a Trombone player for the band "Platinum Express" that is playing for the Saturday night event of our 45 year class reunion ! He told me a little about Jim ( the name difference apparently due to a step-father situation and some indecision on Jim's part as to which name he preferred to be associated with ) and he told me that Jim had really struggled in life after High School ! I wish I would have known - I considered him enough of a friend I sure would have tried to reach out to him in any way I might have been able to help. It's really sad to learn that a "friend" apparently got to the point of such despair that he apparently headed down the road of self destruction - sure wish I would have known and more importantly could have figured out a way to help turn things around for him ...
Jim passed away 5/25/2003. He is buried in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. He left behind his companion Frances Eaton and a son James Eaton and daughter Angela Buisch.
