I knew Mike since my first day at JC Nichols in the 3rd grade.  He was always a joy and so good to me.  He used to make me these laynards and bracelets with my name on them in Scouts and  I always thought they were the nicest little gifts.  Sometimes I would get three of them a week.  But, that was Mike, always the doting one.  Of course Mike was not complete without Larry Tigerman, so whenever  I think of one of them, I always think of the other.  My heartfelt prayers to his family and also to Larry who will be missing his BFF.

Mike was really a character! What a guy! He made Bingham very interesting for me....I think that he wanted to be my boyfriend!. So sorry to hear of his passing, Larry. I posted on your page. I am so sad that you lost your lifetime buddy. He left you with tons of memories that I hope will make you laugh and smile often.

I remember Mike Heinz from J. C. Nichols. Mike left a lasting positive impression on me because of his gentle and kind soul. One memory of Mike that stands out is the trekking excursions we would take together around the neighborhoods of Armour Hills on weekends or in the summer. Mike always helped encourage my appetite for these kinds of all day adventures back in those times. As I prepare to do an independent trekking adventure in Nepal for one month...beginning in 3 weeks...I dedicate this journey to my childhood friend who always inspired me to go one step further...
