Jim Hefner

Jim died at the age of 36 on July 23, 1986, at the Medical Center of Independence.  At that time, he was working as manager of the Firestone Tire & Rubber store in Independence.  He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church of Independence, the Ararat Shrine and the Independence Masonic Lodge.  He left behind a wife, Mrs. Carol Hefner, and two daughters, Jennifer and Cassandra Hefner.

I'm really sorry to learn of Jim's passing - I lost track of him after High School. I sure considered him a friend and will never forget all the fun we had "cruising" in his '64 Chevy - often while we were skipping school ! ( I remember it had an automatic transmission that developed some issues but that didn't stop us - we went "cruising" ANYWAY even though it sounded like a manual transmission as the engine revived up to get the transmission to engage ! ) I wish he was still here so we could reminisce about "the good old days" - gone way too soon ...
